Dear Nick,

I thought you might like to hear about our experiences of Bed and Breakfast accommodation in the Westpoint area, when I accompanied Richard to a course at Westpoint forge.

We arrived at Marianne Pool Farm on a cold, wet December night. Mrs Bragg greeted us with a sunny smile and warm welcome. She had lit the fire in the sitting room so that it was cosy for us to watch the television.

She showed us to our room: It was a large, spacious room with a double and single bed and en-suite shower room. There was a tea tray complete with hot chocolate and biscuits as well as the usual tea, coffee, milk, sugar and kettle.

A hair drier, shower gel, shampoo and an abundance of towels were also supplied. Everywhere was spotlessly clean and although the farmhouse is only two miles from the motorway, it was very quiet.

After a very comfortable night, we went down to breakfast in the dinning room. There was a large selection of cereals plus grapefruit, prunes and orange juice to help yourself to. This was followed by a full cooked breakfast with bread and toast with a choice of local honey, jam, marmalade and marmite.

This was served with a pot of freshly ground coffee (or tea of course).

Mrs Bragg is happy to cater for any special dietary needs and had spent the previous few days making egg white scrambled eggs for a group of oriental tourists.

It was enough to set up even the hungriest blacksmith for a hard days work.

The standard and quality of both food and accommodation compares favourably with some of the better hotels in the area and at a cost of £45.00, for two people for the night, with en-suite facilities, it offers real value for money.

Anyone wishing to book can contact Mrs Bragg on 01392 874939, and I am sure they will have a very pleasant stay.
